Cahill won't regret decision

Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill insists he has no regrets after choosing to join the Trotters instead of Birmingham City in January.

The 22-year-old centre-half opted to join Bolton from Aston Villa despite holding talks with Birmingham in the last transfer window.

But even if the relegation-plagued Reebok Stadium outfit lose their Premier League status this season, Cahill believes his decision will still have been the correct one.

The Trotters slipped four points adrift of Birmingham in the final relegation place after losing 4-0 at Aston Villa on Saturday.

"I've said since I came here that I've enjoyed working under the manager and working with the lads, so I'd be devastated if we go down," he told the Bolton News.

"I'm settled here, I'm very happy here and I really want to play in the Premiership.

"But I won't look at it as a bad decision at all."
