Cahill returns to boost Bolton
24 Mar 2010 - 11:15:52
Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill is delighted to be close to a first-team return after a spell on the sidelines due to a blood clot in his arm.
The 24-year-old has not featured for the Trotters since the end of January, but showed up well in a reserve team clash with Everton earlier this week.
He told the club's official website: "It's good to be back playing in games again - I'm absolutely delighted to be back. Fitness-wise, it went pretty well.
"Obviously I've come back a little bit rusty, but it was all about fitness and getting 90 minutes under my belt - knowing that I can get though 90 minutes fine.
"I've come through everything well and I feel good. I made a couple of blocks, I've tested my heading and my shoulder and come through it, so I'm happy with that.
"Now I have to keep on working hard in training.
"The lads have done really well since I have been out, so there's a challenge for me as I look to get into the manager's thoughts regarding selection."
