Bust-up reports annoy Megson
14 Dec 2009 - 12:41:44
Bolton boss Gary Megson has branded as "scurrilous" claims that he and defender Jlloyd Samuel have been involved in a bust-up.
Samuel was dropped to the bench for Saturday's 3-3 draw with Manchester City with reports suggesting that he Megson had been involved in a heated row at half-time during the defeat to Wolves seven days earlier.
Megson has admitted he had words with Samuel but has again hit out at the negative reporting which he claims has dogged the struggling club in recent weeks.
"It was done on purpose," he claimed. "I was disappointed when I saw it, but I'm not surprised at where it's come from.
"I know who's put it in there, I know why it was put in there, and no good can come from crap like that.
"The stuff that was in it, most of it was scurrilous, was deemed to cause problems, but it wasn't true. At the end of the day it's nothing to do with Bolton, nothing to do with football.
"It won't make any great difference, certainly not to myself and, if there are any people out there thick enough to believe in those kind of things, then fine."
