Freedman waits on Beckford

Under-fire Bolton boss Dougie Freedman will hope leading marksman Jermaine Beckford can prove his fitness in time for Burnley's trip to the Reebok Stadium.

The striker has not played since January 11 because of a hamstring problem but a comeback is imminent and would be particularly timely given Freedman's great need for just a third home league win of the campaign.

Adam Bogdan looks set to retain his place in goal after being restored ahead of Andy Lonergan for the weekend's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. Mark Davies was taken off before the hour in that clash yet Freedman insisted that was more as a precaution given his lengthy absence from a knee problem.

Fellow midfielder Stuart Holden continues to occupy the sidelines with a knee injury of his own but defender David Wheater, back in full training from a similar complaint, has a chance of making the squad.

Sean Dyche could name the same Burnley XI for the fourth successive game.

The Clarets once again look set to boast an injury-and-suspension-free squad for the short trip and, despite playing a fourth game in the space of 15 days, Dyche will be tempted to stick with the line-up which is largely responsible for their lofty league position.

Winger Ross Wallace came on in the dying embers of Saturday's 2-1 win over Millwall, his first appearance since August because of a knee injury, and he will hope to play a part again.

Should Dyche consider changes, the likes of midfielder Keith Treacy and defender David Edgar could come into his thinking.
