Bolton keen on Balde move
09 Jan 2008 - 09:03:30
Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is hoping to sign experienced Celtic defender Bobo Balde.
Balde, 32, returned to the first team at the Glasgow club over the festive period but has made only two appearances this season.
The Guinea international rejected a move to Sunderland during the summer, but Trotters boss Megson is hopeful of luring him to the Reebok Stadium.
The two clubs have yet to agree a fee for the former Toulouse stopper, who could cost Bolton as much as £1million.
However, Megson is likely to have money to reinvest in his squad should Nicolas Anelka complete his expected £15million move to Chelsea.
Portsmouth's out-of-favour left-back Matt Taylor has also been linked with a move to the Reebok Stadium.
"We have spoken to Celtic about Bobo, but we are not quite there with the fee," Megson told the Bolton News.
Balde has made over 230 appearances for Celtic during six-and-a-half years at Parkhead.
