Blake rallies struggling Clarets
08 Mar 2010 - 15:26:04
Striker Robbie Blake has admitted this week is likely to be pivotal to Burnley's hopes of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.
The Clarets face Stoke City on Wednesday and Wolves on Saturday - both at Turf Moor - in two potentially vital games.
Brian Laws' side are second bottom of the table in 19th place but just two points away from safety.
"It's a massive week which will be pivotal in our season. If we can get the three points on Wednesday it would set us up nicely for Wolves on Saturday," Blake told the club's official website.
"We haven't picked up enough points away so our home games will be vital.
"We don't need to put pressure on ourselves because, judging from our performances at home this season, we know we are good enough.
"It will be no different against Stoke, we've got to attack them from the start and if we're on the front foot then I think we'll win the game.
"If we can compete with them, we've then got the quality up front to cause problems and hopefully get some goals.
"We've got good attacking players and if we can keep it tight at the back that's what we'll look to build on."
