Portuguese giants Benfica have dismissed speculation linking them with a summer move for
Bolton Wanderers forward El-Hadji Diouf.
The 26-year-old has admitted that he is unhappy at the exit of former Trotters boss Sam Allardyce, but Benfica say they have made no move for the unsettled Senegal star.
A club spokesman confirmed: "It's just lies. We are not negotiating anything with Diouf.
"We are not in the transfer market yet, we are not searching for new signings."
Diouf has been with Bolton since the summer of 2004, having initially joined on a season-long loan from Liverpool and has scored 18 goals in 94 outings for the Trotters.
He commented recently: "I don't know yet what I am doing next season.
"But, whatever I do next season, whether I stay or go, I will never forget Bolton. I really don't know what I am doing but, whatever I do in my life, I will never forget this football club."
