Al Habsi given Coyle backing
16 Jul 2010 - 16:24:10
Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle insists that goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi still has a future with the club, despite being loaned out to Wigan Athletic for the whole of next season.
The 28-year-old Oman international has been with the Trotters since January 2006, but has had few first-team opportunities due to the continuing excellence of Jussi Jaaskelainen.
However, Coyle is still a fan of Al Habsi and believes that he can return to Bolton and establish himself as a key player.
He told the club's official website: "It is an opportunity for Ali to gain some first-team experience with an established Premier League side.
"Ali is a terrific lad and a loyal servant to Bolton Wanderers. We had a chat and felt this was a chance for him to get some games under his belt.
"Jussi Jaaskelainen is our number one and Ali has found himself behind one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
"This season long loan means he will come back to us stronger."
