Win over West Brom bodes well for Bolton - Coyle

Bolton manager Owen Coyle believes the 2-0 win over West Brom provides plenty of encouragement for the rest of the season - because his team did not play particularly well. The Trotters have been one of the success stories of the season in the Barclays Premier League and head into Wednesday's clash with reigning champions Chelsea in the top six. But, although the West Brom game brought another three points, Coyle's side were outplayed for large parts at the Reebok Stadium and could well have lost had the visitors not contrived to squander all of their chances. Far from seeing the below-par performance as a negative, however, the Scot was delighted Wanderers managed to take the opportunities that came their way. He said: "It bodes well for the rest of the season. I was disappointed not to get anything from Sunderland last week because we probably played better than we showed here but we look a goal threat every time we get on the park. "We didn't pass the ball well enough to get into the final third as much as I would have liked but, on the occasions we did, we looked a very good team capable of scoring goals."
