Wigan v Bolton cancelled due to severe weather conditions

Heavy snow in the region over the weekend has made roads treacherous in the area, although the playing surface at the DW Stadium was actually deemed playable. [LNB]However, safety concerns regarding the public areas surrounding the ground, which are still covered in snow and ice, meant the club had no option but to call off the match. The club is duty bound to abide by this advise. [LNB]"The club wishes to apologise to all its supporters, and to the supporters of Bolton Wanderers, but their safety is of paramount importance. [LNB]"The club stress that every effort has been made to ensure the game could go ahead. [But] with a mile of private roads and ten acres of car parks to maintain, much of which are still under ice, and with weather forecasts predicting a temperature drop down to minus 6 degrees tonight, the collective decision between the club and the police has unfortunately been made to postpone the match.[LNB]"All tickets will be valid for the rearranged date, when an announcement is made.
