Wales without Ricketts for Finland clash as defender struggles with ankle injury

Bolton defender Sam Ricketts has withdrawn from the Wales squad ahead of their trip to Finland.   Ricketts has suffered an ankle injury and did not train on Wednesday or Thursday.   He has been sent back to his club for further treatment, ruling him out of Saturday's World Cup qualifying match against the Finns.   There is a possibility that Ricketts will have recovered in time to link up with the squad again on Sunday to travel on to Liechtenstein for next Wednesday's final Group Four qualifier.   His absence comes as another blow for Wales boss John Toshack who has already lost Jack Collison, Danny Gabbidon, Joe Ledley and Simon Davies.
