Trotters pegged back by Tigers

Craig Fagan scored a vital equaliser as Hull kept alive their hopes of beating relegation with a battling 1-1 draw at Bolton. Fagan cancelled out a crisp strike from Gretar Steinsson to earn his side a crucial point from their Premier League encounter at the Reebok Stadium. The result was enough to lift Hull out of the bottom three but the Tigers could have had more had Jussi Jaaskelainen not been in inspired form. Bolton snatched the lead against the run of play in the 26th minute as Steinsson finished off a quick counter-attack with a superb strike. Hull immediately levelled after the break when Danny Shittu and Jaaskelainen got their lines of communication mixed up and Fagan nipped in to score. The Tigers continued to dominate and Nick Barmby went close with an effort that rebounded off a post, while Daniel Cousin had a firm header tipped on to the bar by Jaaskelainen.
