THE INSIDER'S LIVE WINDOW WATCH: Tuesday's top transfer gossip

Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the biggest (and littlest) transfer moves this summer. His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening. Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline. Manchester City to Cologne - The Insider says: 3/5 The Brazilian midfielder has been in brilliant form for his country but has struggled to fit in with City manager Mark Hughes's plans. He has not enjoyed the best reputation away from the pitch and has allegedly caused problems for Hughes with City's Brazilian contingent. However, he is highly rated around Europe and has had interest from Italy, Spain and Germany in particular. Many are unable to match City's valuation of around £8m but loan offers are on the table from Cologne among others while Inter Milan and Real Zaragoza are monitoring events. Liverpool to Barcelona - The Insider says: 1/5 Barcelona are ready to return to the fold for the Argentine midfielder although they have not spoken since initial contact with his agent earlier last month. However, as they look to tie up a deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Samuel Eto'o and possibly Alexander Hleb going the other way, they want to add more quality to their squad and want Mascherano to give world class cover for Iniesta and Xavi. Liverpool have made it clear they won't sell but Barca will offer around £75,000 a week and a five year contract — doubling his current wages — and they may put Liverpool under pressure to at least improve his contract now. Hull to Sunderland - The Insider says: 2/5 One of the best performers in the Premier League last season, Turner pushed himself to the brink of England recognition with a fantastic first campaign in the top flight and some eye-catching goals to boot. His consistency has alerted several Premier League rivals and inquiries have come in over the past month with Sunderland, Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham among his admirers. Manager Phil Brown recognises it could turn the player's head but has been assured he does not have to sell to finance his squad strengthening. He would prefer to maintain stability in his side and keep his better players where possible. Tottenham to Aston Villa - The Insider says: 2/5 Tottenham are overloaded with right-backs and are willing to listen to offers on the Scotland international who cost them a whopping £9m but who suffered last season with injuries. Aston Villa have a few options and may consider stepping up interest in Hutton if other alternatives fall by the wayside. Everton are also monitoring the situation after missing out to Tottenham on Sheffield United's Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker who should finalise their moves for around £8million this week. Hutton is tall and fast which is just what David Moyes is after and is keen for a fresh start. Marseille to Sunderland - The Insider says: 3/5 The cosmopolitan Marseille captain was destined to join Hamburg last week until the move broke down at the last minute. Cana, 25, holds Albanian, French and Swiss citizenship and was born in Yugoslavia. Arsenal have watched him and he invited Everton to make their move last week but Sunderland are the ones who have stepped forward first. He would cost around £6.5m and is a powerful midfielder with an eye for goal. He has also built up plenty of experience in European competition over recent seasons. If Steve Bruce can persuade him he would be a real coup for Sunderland and could trigger other quality arrivals.
