Shittu determined to impress Megson

Having started just seven times for the Trotters since his move from Watford last summer, rumours of unrest and dissatisfaction have dogged the 28-year-old's time at the Reebok Stadium. And while admitting that he is not happy to sit on the bench, Shittu has stated his intention to force his way into the first team. "I am not happy not playing because I am here to play," Shittu said. "I came here to play football and that is why I am still working hard every day in training to make sure I get a chance to play because that was the plan when I came here. "My plan is still the same." With belief in his own ability Shittu remains confident he can replicate the form he has shown when given his so far rare opportunities. "I believe I have done well each time I have been given a chance," he said. "I have a lot of respect for this football club so I don't want to say anything right now. The important thing is that I am here now, and I believe I am doing my best to get into the team."
