Mick: Bolton forwards pack a punch
Wanderers will be facing a Bolton side who have scored just once in seven Premier League games and who have drawn a blank in their last five top-flight matches.[LNB]But McCarthy, whose team are just a point clear of Owen Coyle's side, knows that with attacking players like Kevin Davies, Johan Elmander, Ivan Klasnic and Lee Chung-Yong to call on, Bolton do carry a massive[LNB]threat.[LNB]McCarthy said: "They have got a bit of fire-power there and despite the fact they have not scored lately I think they are dangerous.[LNB]"Davies has got a good goalscoring record in the league and I think that Klasnic is different class. He is a really good player so they are a threat.[LNB]"So let's not go up there and make it a really open game and find ourselves 1-0 down and struggling."[LNB]The stakes are high for both teams as the survival battle moves towards the final straight.[LNB]But McCarthy argues that there is more pressure on Bolton.[LNB]"Clearly the emphasis will be on them to win as it is their home game," added McCarthy.[LNB]"Their fans will be turning up and seeing this as an opportunity to get three points and to get above Wolves. It is not just as easy as that.[LNB]"We have to stay in the game and not go there thinking that three points is a must and lose the game.[LNB]"We will be trying to get three points but if I come away with a point it will be as valuable as any we get this season.[LNB]"Neither of us will be settling for a point but if we came away and the status quo between us remained the same, then I will take that. It is about staying amongst it, not getting cut adrift."[LNB]McCarthy is relishing the chance to pit his wits against Coyle and certainly does not fall into that group of people critical of his decision to leave Burnley earlier this season to take charge at[LNB]the Reebok Stadium.[LNB]"Owen is a very good football friend of mine," added McCarthy.[LNB]"He made his decision to move. In other people's eyes it was contentious.[LNB]"It wasn't in mine. If the guy decides to go then good luck to him.[LNB]"He did a fabulous job at Burnley to get them promoted and then having the start that they did this season.[LNB]"I don't think anyone should give him any grief. If he thinks he is going on to better himself then that is up to Owen and I wished him well personally.[LNB]"I won't when we play them but it still remains that the job he did at Burnley was fantastic."[LNB]McCarthy will field the side that started against Chelsea last weekend.[LNB]Striker Andy Keogh, who has been sidelined since December following ankle surgery, is set to be on the bench.[LNB][LNB]
