Megson wants bigger squad

Bolton manager Gary Megson believes they need to address their lack of numbers in the squad or pay the consequences. Megson has been working with arguably the smallest pool of players in the Barclays Premier League, yet they have managed to remain in the top flight for the second successive season under his stewardship. It is a considerable achievement but Megson is now keen to make serious investment during the summer in all areas apart from the goalkeeping position. Megson said: "Money is tight everywhere but we have got to kick on If we do not then we are going to have real problems next season. "We have made a profit in transfer business in the last two years and the wage bill is down as well. "We are pleased but that was not my brief. If you do not keep going forward you get problems."
