Megson urges Lee patience

Gary Megson has urged Bolton Wanderers fans to be patient with new signing Lee Chung-Yong. The Trotters finalised a deal for the South Korea international last week and he made a surprise appearance in Saturday's Premier League loss to Sunderland. However, Lee, who came on in the 68th minute at the Reebok Stadium, failed to impress on his debut, and his display has led to criticism from some sections. Megson, though, is confident the attack-minded midfielder will prove a fans' favourite in the future. He said in the Daily Mail: "He is sharp and he has got ability but that was not a case of desperation but we just wanted to try something because nothing was really dropping for us. "He has got an ability to get us up the pitch on his own without passing. He has got pace and you saw a few little glimpses today [Saturday]. "But it is really unfair on him because he arrived on Thursday night at 11pm and it was just that we were in a position of nothing ventured, nothing gained. "It is not a case of easing him in, we will just have to wait and see. He is not particularly physically strong yet but he is very quick. "Probably if you asked him now the names of his team-mates, he wouldn't know them. "It is difficult for him. But we were in a situation where it wasn't happening for us and we just hoped something came off for us. It didn't."
