Speculation at the weekend claimed the Trotters were looking to replace Megson with Coyle at the end of the season, but the Premier League club issued a statement to reject the speculation and described the reports as 'unfounded, wholly unaccurate and rubbish'.[LNB]Megson has also taken no notice of the rumours surrounding his future and accepts it comes with the territory of being a football manager.[LNB]"I didn't read it, but I have been told about it," Megson told the Bolton News. [LNB]"I haven't really got a reaction to it - that's just part of what goes on around football. But it doesn't affect me." [LNB]Meanwhile, Megson says he will not be setting a points target for his Bolton team to ensure survival in the Premier League.[LNB]"It makes me laugh when people start doing it," he said. "You can't apply mathematics to football. It doesn't work. [LNB]"I've heard other managers talking of the fact they haven't averaged a point a game, and what's to suggest they were about to change. [LNB]"But last season we averaged 2.2 points from our last five games. If we'd have done that right the way through the season, we'd have won the league. [LNB]"Nobody knows what it is going to be. You've got to just keep plugging away and not take your foot off the pedal."[LNB][LNB]
