Megson rues missed opportunity

But Megson insists it might have been a different story if Bolton had been on top of their game for the full 90 minutes during the 4-3 Premier League defeat at Stamford Bridge. "They were 4-0 up and should possibly have kept the ball a little bit better but we put on a show in the last 25 minutes and, if we had put it on right the way through, they would not have been 4-0 up in the first place," said Megson. "But I have got so much admiration for Guus Hiddink. Most of the real big-time managers don't take on jobs like Korea and Australia. "He has been to huge football clubs but he's also put his reputation on the line in Korea, Australia and Russia and done brilliantly. "What happened in our game is not a learning process for Guus Hiddink. It shouldn't have happened but saying that and being able to stop it are two different things."
