Megson infuriated by cup defeat

Bolton manager Gary Megson admitted his team did not perform in their 4-0 Carling Cup defeat to Chelsea but promised the Blues would face a more difficult encounter when the two teams meet again in the Barclays Premier League at the weekend.[LNB]Goals from Salomon Kalou, Florent Malouda, Deco and Didier Drogba ended Bolton's interest in the competition.[LNB]And a disappointed Megson said: "We didn't play as you need to play against the quality they have[LNB]"If you don't play at a tempo that might upset Chelsea, or go into challenges that might upset them, then you're not going to damage them.[LNB]"It was a poor performance from minute one. We needed to score the first goal, but we were never going to do that with the way we approached it.[LNB]I'm pleased to be playing them again on Saturday," Megson added. "We need to put on a performance. That was a bit of a stroll. Our team will be different, not just in personnel but in approach, and I hope we're a lot more wholehearted."
