Megson in favour of beautiful game

Bolton manager Gary Megson admits he is hoping to oversee a change in style of play this season. Megson's success in keeping the Trotters up in the past two campaigns was founded on the direct, physical approach that harvested so much success under Sam Allardyce - but while it has kept them in the Premier League, it has not brought fans flocking to the Reebok Stadium. And Megson said: "I would like to change the style that we play as I felt that was one of the reasons the club struggled last season. "We had to take it back a little bit, get the results at times and not play in the way we would have liked. "There were some really good performances, but some really dour, grinding performances where we've got results. "But it was all about getting those results."
