Megson hits out at Tigers

Bolton manager Gary Megson has accused relegation-threatened Hull of trying to influence referee Phil Walton to get captain Kevin Davies booked at the weekend. Megson claims a member of the Tigers' backroom staff went into the official's room at half-time to complain about Davies. After the interval, the Bolton captain was involved in the major flashpoint in the 1-1 draw when his tackle on Andy Dawson in front of the dugouts provoked a furious reaction from the Hull bench. Tigers assistant boss Brian Horton had to be restrained by a police officer but Megson claims the protests had started long before then. "I was getting a little bit annoyed with what was going on," the Wanderers manager told The Bolton News. "I know a member of Hull's staff went into the referee's room and was moaning about Kevin Davies. "He's as honest as the day is long and I don't take kindly to any bench, not just Hull's, trying to get him booked to gain an advantage."
