Megson continues striker search

Megson has enjoyed a successful foray into the transfer market with Zat Knight, Sam Ricketts, Sean Davis and Paul Robinson having arrived at the Reebok Stadium during the close-season. South Korea international midfielder Lee Chung-Yong, 21, will arrive tomorrow after completing a £2.2million move from FC Seoul but the Trotters' lack of firepower remains a serious concern. Last season skipper Kevin Davies netted 11 times but club-record signing Johan Elmander managed only five in the whole campaign and none at all after Christmas. Megson said: "It's quite well-documented now that we are looking for a new striker. "We know who we'd like, but whether that is achievable or not is another question. "A lot of things will happen between now and the end of August, and we have to be prepared to move quickly to bring somebody in if the opportunity arises. "Throughout the summer I've not even been given a budget. I've just put players forward to the owner, Eddie Davies, and the chairman, Phil Gartside, and they've not once knocked me back. "But we definitely need another forward as we go into the season with Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander as our only senior strikers." Megson is delighted with his new signings but is warning fans not to expect too much too soon from Chung-Yong. He said: "The lad is going to need a lot of patience shown to him. "He's a young lad coming to a new country with a new language and a new culture, so it's going to take time for him to settle. But he's certainly very talented."
