Megson: Cohen can play his part

Bolton manager Gary Megson believes Tamir Cohen has the potential to be part of his long-term plans if he can stay out of the treatment room.Cohen smashed the ball home from close range to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday after Kevin Davies and then Andy O'Brien had helped on a free-kick from Matt Taylor.Megson said: "We brought Tamir over from Israel to give him an opportunity. We are a club that has to do that."He has quality, is good in the air, is a good athlete and can get goals. But what he has to realise is the way the game is played in this country."Megson has already held talks with chairman Phil Gartside about beefing up what he considers is a threadbare squad next season.Gartside said: "I do believe we are moving forward and progressing well. Work is already under way in identifying our targets for next season."Megson added: "There needs to be a bit of perspective. Our subs bench against Villa did not cost one penny."It consisted of free transfers, people that have come through the ranks and loan players. We do not have a huge amount of quality but the players have hearts as big as buckets."[LNB]
