Megson aiming to seal double deal

Megson is looking to reshape his midfield for the 2009/10 Premier League campaign, and has already recruited Sean Davis on a free transfer. Swansea playmaker Ferrie Bodde was also high on the Bolton gaffer's shopping list, but after seeing a £3.5million bid for him rejected by the Championship club, Megson is ready to look elsewhere. He has reportedly turned his eye towards Eastlands with a view to snapping up 22-year-old midfielder Gelson, who does not figure in Mark Hughes' ambitious plans for the Manchester club. And Megson is ready to offer £3million for his services, according to the News of the World. The Trotters boss, meanwhile, is close to luring Robinson to The Reebok after the tenacious left-back held talks with new Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo and told him he wanted to leave The Hawthorns for the North-West. Albion chairman Jeremy Peace had valued the 30-year-old defender in the £1million bracket - but is now prepared to accept Bolton's improved bid of £750,000 as Di Matteo does not want unhappy players in the dressing room.
