Kevin Davies tells dropped Bolton players to stop sulking

Bolton skipper Kevin Davies has told team-mates to stop 'sulking' if they are axed from Dougie Freedman's squad.

Davies, along with a number of other senior players including Keith Andrews and Martin Petrov, have been totally omitted from the matchday 18 at times this season - with the latter dropped from Saturday's draw with Barnsley. But 35-year-old Davies insists it is down to those players as individuals to work their way back into Freedman's plans.

"Everyone wants to play," he told The Bolton News.

"We have got a quality squad - Martin wasn't even in the squad - and people will be disappointed if they are not playing.

"But no one can afford to come in sulking. You dust yourself down and work hard because you could be in the following week.

"We've got to keep working hard on the training ground to make sure everyone knows their own role and jobs. If you do that then it helps the team."
