Hughes vents fury at Clattenburg

Hughes was incensed that Craig Bellamy was sent off for two yellow cards in the thrilling 3-3 draw, with the second caution given for simulation following a challenge by Paul Robinson.[LNB]Bellamy had earlier been booked after objecting to Bolton's third goal, though many in the stadium missed the decision.[LNB]Hughes said: "The decision to send Craig off was laughable. It is quite clear the guy (Robinson) has taken him out.[LNB]"Craig is running at full pelt and has knocked the ball past him. But for some reason Mr Clattenburg thought Craig was looking to deceive him and decided to send him off.[LNB]"Paul Robinson has made out he has dived as he doesn't want to be booked himself. That is quite a natural reaction, that's what happens.[LNB]"Everyone in the stadium seemed to be mystified for quite some time. Apparently he had booked him after the third goal for dissent.[LNB]"Craig was frustrated about the throw in for the goal. It wasn't just him, a number of players questioned that decision at the time.[LNB]"He felt he had to book Craig. To give a second yellow for what has happened and send the guy off, a few questions have to be asked."[LNB]Even Bolton manager Gary Megson thought Clattenburg had got it wrong in dismissing Bellamy.[LNB]Megson said: "I thought it was a bit harsh. He did not seem to be looking for it as he has gone past our full-back.I did not realise he had been booked earlier.[LNB]"I knew Craig when he was a young lad at Norwich. He has not changed. He is still fiery as well as being a marvellous player."[LNB]Carlos Tevez secured a point for City with his second goal of the game with Ivan Klasnic scored a brace for Bolton.[LNB]Gary Cahill, for the home side, and City defender Micah Richards were also on target in a rousing encounter.[LNB]Hughes, meanwhile, went on to question Clattenburg's overall performance and attitude.[LNB]He said: "My assistant manager (Mark Bowen) has knocked on the referee's door and wasn't too impressed by what was said and the excuses given.[LNB]"We are really frustrated with his performance and the performance of the other officials. The first goal is clearly offside. Why the hell they found it difficult to get that one right I have no idea.[LNB]"I also don't appreciate when the referees coming out for the second half start making comment about who they do or do not like in my team. They might be having a laugh and a joke. I have to be careful here as we are talking about integrity."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
