After 65 minutes, Bolton were on course to haul themselves away from the Premier League relegation zone, as they led 2-0 thanks to goals from Matt Taylor and Kevin Davies. [LNB]But Rovers, led by former Bolton manager Sam Allardyce, salvaged a point, with Benni McCarthy nicking an 87th-minute equaliser, after having a 70th-minute penalty saved by Jussi Jaaskelainen. [LNB]Blackburn even came close to stealing the win in injury time, only for captain Ryan Nelsen's header to hit the base of a post. [LNB]That prompted the Bolton supporters to turn on Megson, who feels they are undermining him and the players with their taunts as they fight to beat the drop. [LNB]"I've had to cope with it for a long time and I don't like it. It's pathetic," Megson told The Bolton News. [LNB]"The reaction to myself is absolutely astounding. The players are having to cope with it and it makes it difficult. [LNB]"When they are slaughtering me it makes the players angry."[LNB]Allardyce, meanwhile, felt referee Mike Dean should have dismissed Bolton keeper Jaaskelainen after taking the legs of 58th-minute substitute Roque Santa Cruz.[LNB]Dean awarded the penalty, but Allardyce said: "I don't understand why he wasn't given a red card.[LNB]"It was the wrong decision, but at the end of the day Mike Dean has deemed it was not a goalscoring opportunity. [LNB]"For me, I can't agree with that. It's very rare you don't see a red card for that offence, and so they got off the hook a bit. [LNB]"Of course, it's our responsibility for missing the penalty. We should have tucked that one away, so it's not all the referee's fault. [LNB]"But unfortunately sometimes the wrong decision goes against you, and I thought that was the wrong decision."
