Gary Megson backs new Bolton boy Lee to come good after debut shocker

The Reebok Stadium gave a collective embarrassed cringe when Bolton's latest recruit Chung-Yong Lee tripped over the ball with his first touch at the weekend. But boss Gary Megson is sure that swapping FC Seoul for Lancashire will be a good Korea move for the 21-year-old. The £2.2million signing was thrown on with 22 minutes to play during Bolton's 1-0 defeat by Sunderland, despite only arriving in the country little more than 36 hours before Saturday's game. He made his embarrassing stumble when put through for what could have been a dream debut goal, but picked himself up to provide a pacey threat down the right wing. Megson said: 'He is sharp and he has got ability but that was not a case of desperation but we just wanted to try something because nothing was really dropping for us. 'He has got an ability to get us up the pitch on his own without passing. He has got pace and you saw a few little glimpses today. 'But it is really unfair on him because he arrived on Thursday night at 11pm and it was just that we were in a position of nothing ventured, nothing gained. 'It is not a case of easing him in, we will just have to wait and see. 'He is not particularly physically strong yet but he is very quick. 'Probably if you asked him now the names of his team-mates, he wouldn't know them. 'It is difficult for him. But we were in a situation where it wasn't happening for us and we just hoped something came off for us. It didn't.'
