Gardner blow for Bolton

17 August 2009 14:57
Bolton ace Ricardo Gardner faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Gardner was a late withdrawal from the squad for Saturday's defeat to Sunderland with the problem. Trotters boss Gary Megson confirmed that the injury is likely to sideline Gardner for another three weeks, meaning he will miss Bolton's trip to Hull City this weekend and the home clash with Liverpool on 29th August. Meanwhile, Megson has admitted he is still looking to add to his squad before the close of the transfer window. The Trotters boss has made a new striker his top priority and he admits he is still chasing forward reinforcements. "We have a stronger squad than last season in terms of numbers and quality but there are a lot stronger squads out there. "We will have a look around and see what (strikers) there are around and see if we can do better."
