Foster frustrates Coyle

Bolton manager Owen Coyle admitted Ben Foster was the difference as his side lost 2-1 at Birmingham. Kevin Phillips and Craig Gardner put City 2-0 up but Johan Elmander set up a tense finale, only for goalkeeper Foster to pull off a string of fine saves to seal the points for the hosts. "I think Birmingham started the game far better than us and we are certainly disappointed with the first goal we lost," Coyle said. "But we did and if the truth be told, I think for 20 minutes they then controlled that first period. "After that in the first half it was all us and they were playing on the counter-attack, but Foster was outstanding. "He made two particularly outstanding saves from Daniel Sturridge in the first half, but that is why he is a top-class international goalkeeper - he is there to make those saves."
