Follow Sportsmail's coverage of the FA Cup where Birmingham host Bolton at St Andrews in the first of this weekend's quarter-finals. City will look to book their second trip to Wembley this season, but the Trotters are having a good campaign under Owen Coyle and will prove difficult opponents to overcome. Email me your thoughts on the action at dan.ripley@dailymail.co.uk[LNB] Birmingham 2-3 Bolton (12.45pm)Birmingham: Foster, Parnaby, Davies, Jiranek (Ridgewell 28), Murphy (Derbyshire 83), Larsson, Ferguson (Redmond 29), Mutch, Beausejour, Phillips, Jerome.Subs: Doyle, Gardner, Ozturk.[LNB]Goals: Jerome 38, Phillips 80.[LNB]Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, Wheater, Robinson, Elmander, Holden, Muamba (Mark Davies 61), Petrov (Talor 90+1min), Kevin Davies, Klasnic (Lee 61).Subs: Bogdan, Moreno, Blake, Alonso.[LNB]Goals: Elmander 21, Davies 66 (pen), Lee 90.[LNB]Referee: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)[LNB]14.48: For Birmingham it's back to the bread and butter stuff of securing their Premier League status, but McLeish can at least be pleased with his injury ravaged side's performance, few could argue if they had secured a replay.[LNB]That's all from me here but check back later on for the last quarter-final of the day between Arsenal and Manchester United. If it is anything like this one we are in for a right old treat! Thank you for following.[LNB]14.45: But it's Bolton who are off to Wembley, and it's hard to begrudge Coyle's side their semi-final place.[LNB]Lee made a big impact even before he scored the winner and you just felt the visitors were more savvy in the way they went about their attacking.[LNB]14.42: What an incredible FA Cup tie. It was a slightly dull first half but both sides played their part in a second interval that hardly gave you time to take a breather.[LNB]Full-time: Birmingham 2-3 Bolton[LNB]90+4min: It's all long ball now in desperation, but we are going to have another delay while Mark Davies receives treatment after an awkward landing while contesting a header.[LNB]90+1min: Matthew Taylor replaces Petrov as Bolton's final sub.[LNB] Late winner: Chung-Yong Lee pounced in the final minute to secure a semi-final spot for Bolton[LNB]90min: GOAL! Birmingham 2-3 BOLTON[LNB]From Birmingham's clearance, Bolton pump the ball back into the box and after Kevin Davies nods it across goal, Chung-Yong Lee applies the finish with a a header past Foster.[LNB]Four minutes of injury time and I still expect more action![LNB]89min: Decent chance this for Bolton after Phillips gives away a free-kick 35 yards out. Martin Petrov is eyeing this up, but his low strike doesn't even get past the penalty box before getting cleared.[LNB]86min: I just can't call this, Birmingham doing more of the pressing, but the visitors look so sharp on the break they cannot be ruled out either.[LNB]If a potential replay is anything like this then I want neither side to score, what a game this has been.[LNB]83min: Birmingham clearly do not want a replay! Derbyshire is on for David Murphy. Judging by McLeish's reaction the goal he didn't want to be out the FA Cup as well.[LNB]82min: Some frustration from Kevin Davies who is booked for a slight push on Ridgewell.[LNB] Still got it: Birmingham players celebrate Phillips' (floor) stunning equaliser[LNB]80min: GOAL! BIRMINGHAM 2-2 Bolton[LNB]Just sensational! It's hopeful stuff as two knock on headers make there way to Kevin Phillips but I don't think anybody was expecting what happened next.[LNB]The striker under pressure hits an unorthodox volley first time from 23 yards which is straight into the top corner, Jaaskelainen had absolutely no chance.[LNB]78min: Matt Derbyshire is getting ready to come on for City, he can be hopeful of at least a goal scoring chance the way this game is shaping up.[LNB]76min: Lee has really changed this game, once again he is causing problems down the right and after his cross is half-cleared, Elmander's shot from the edge of the box is comfortably taken by Foster.[LNB]73min: End-to-end stuff, and this benefits Bolton who have much fresher legs over the pitch, this is a proper cup tie![LNB]70min: It's the game that keeps on giving! Phillips' shot across goal is a real cracker and looks to be heading for the top corner until Jaaskelainen tips it on to the post and out to safety![LNB]68min: What is Elmander doing! Lee sends a fantastic cross to the far post but with a simple volley to convert the Swede jumps out the way like it's a grenade flying at him. I honestly don't know what he is doing.[LNB] Straight forward: Davies made no mistake from the penalty spot[LNB]66min: GOAL! Birmingham 1-2 BOLTON[LNB]Seconds after Kevin Davies has a goal ruled out for offside, he is brought down needlessly with his back to goal but Curtis Davies.[LNB]The striker picks himself up to fire the penalty down the centre, what a second-half this is![LNB]65min: PENALTY (Bolton)[LNB]62min: Instant impact from Lee! Phillips manages to get a touch on Larsson's corner towards goal but standing on the far post, the South Korean is on hand to volley away.[LNB]61min: Double sub from Bolton who are the least happy with a long ball game. Chung-Yong Lee and Mark Davies are on to replace Muamba and Klasnic.[LNB]58min: Another mad Jussi run out but this time he shows his experience. Jerome is through on goal but on the corner of the penalty area, he looks to have been brought down by the keeper after taking the ball around him.[LNB]Much to the fury of the home fans, Phil Dowd gives a corner and it's a fantastic decision as Jaaskelainen does win the ball in the tackle.[LNB]Brave but correct call from Dowd, I applaud him.[LNB]56min: Lovely stuff from Redmond, he produces a stepover here or there on the right before whipping in a cross that was begging for a Birmingham header from close range.[LNB]53min: Coyle's reaction shows he was far from happy with the decision, and referee Phil Dowd has a quiet word with him on the touchline. Call that a managerial yellow card if you like.[LNB]52min: Bolton win a free-kick just inside their own half and you can guess where this is going...[LNB]The ball is pumped into the Birmingham box where after claiming to win a penalty for a foul on him, Gary Cahill is in fact penailised for hand ball. Good decision.[LNB]49min: Bolton perhaps the more useful going forward here as they try to play some more stuff along the green surface. In fairness it doesn't look easy, as the pitch is not exactly snooker table flat.[LNB]47min: Pointless but interesting stat nonetheless from OptaJoe as both sides feel each other out in the early stages:[LNB]1 - Birmingham City have won just one of the previous seven games that Cameron Jerome has scored in. Hex.[LNB]Second-half: City get us underway again.[LNB]13.44: Just one substitute left for McLeish and judging by his luck in the last week I can't see him gambling on any changes at half-time.[LNB]13.41: Apologies for the lack of pictures by the way. The truth is we haven't seen any at all yet.[LNB]13.38: For the purist this hasn't been a classic, but there is no questioning the commitment of the sides out there.[LNB]Two well taken goals though and I have seen much wore games this season.[LNB]Half-time: Birmingham 1-1 Bolton[LNB]45min: Two minutes added on.[LNB]44min: That young prospect Redmond has had a difficult half with all this head tennis, but once he gets the ball at his feet he has looked good.[LNB]He picks out Jean Beausejour on the left with a well spotted pass, but the move ends in disappointment after Jordon Mutch blasts miles over the bar, that may even have ended up at Villa Park.[LNB]41min: City fans have found their voices all of a sudden but long ball is still the order of the day, a typical made in England cup game this.[LNB] Clinical: Jerome pounced onto Wheater's poor clearance to fire home the equaliser[LNB]38min: GOAL! BIRMINGHAM 1-1 Bolton[LNB]More long ball and after David Wheater fails to properly clear, Cameron Jerome has all the time in the world to smash a well hit strike inside Jaaskelainen's near post. The crippled side are back in it.[LNB]38min: How often do we see keepers made to look silly here? Jaaskelainen comes five yards out his area to cut out a long ball and only just beats Jerome to it as he clears for a throw in.[LNB]35min: The game has hit quite a scrappy period, as a kiss of death from myself both sides are playing direct stuff.[LNB]32min: A lovely ball from Davies finds Petrov down the left who sets about making a charge to the byline. He is pulled up however as it is deemed he did not keep the ball in play from the touchline. How the referee or his assistant managed to spot that I do not know.[LNB]29min: Well I cannot believe this, City are making another change after Barry Ferguson limps off following an earlier tackle. Nathan Redmond comes on in his place.[LNB]28min: Jiranek is coming off as it seems he has not recovered from that earlier knock, strange as he seems to have been running around alright.[LNB]Liam Ridgewell is on in his place, this is a nightmare scenario for McLeish.[LNB]26min: Although I admit there was a long ball in the build up to that goal, there has been some real clever play in the Trotters attack. Birmingham struggling to get going here.[LNB]24min: Que sera, sera is the shout from the Bolton fans. They are not going to Wembley yet but they are the better side at the moment.[LNB] Swede success: Elmander fires Bolton into the lead[LNB]21min: GOAL! Birmingham 0-1 BOLTON[LNB]Remember the long ball stuff under Sam Allardyce? Forget it, Klasnic's clever back heel sees Johan Elmander beat the offside trap before firing past Foster, lovely goal.[LNB]20min: Gretar Steinsson is the fist man booked after purposely bringing down Kevin Phillips in the Bolton half.[LNB]18min: Curse of the first touch. Moments after Cameron Jerome's control prevents him from going one-on-one with Jaaskelainen, Stuart Holden fails to finish a lovely move after his first touch rolls straight to Ben Foster 18 yards out.[LNB]16min: Crucial block from Stuart Parnaby. Fabrice Muamba's clumsy looking flick on finds Martin Petrov unmarked outside the box, but the defender manages to get his body in the way of the Bulgarian's volley.[LNB]It hits his hand but in no way is that a penalty.[LNB]15min We are lacking chances but it's not through lack of effort. Defences are on top as play switches from one end o the other.[LNB]12min: The visitors are pressing Birmingham in every area of the pitch here but City are winning quite a few set-pieces. They win a free-kick out on the left flank where Larsson's cross is met by the head of Curtis Davies, but it's an easy enough take for Jussi Jaaskelainen.[LNB]9min: Shortly after Birmingham clear a corner they in won themselves, but the Trotters are back in numbers and Davies manages to head Seb Larsson's cross clear.[LNB]7min: Jiranek looks like he will be able to run it off, so Barry from row F seat 076 puts back on his tracksuit.[LNB]6min: The story of Birmingham's week this. Stuart Holden accidentally catches Martin Jiranek on the ankle and there is going to be a short delay while he receives treatment.[LNB]I'm half expecting McLeish to start picking people out the crowd to help with his squad depth soon.[LNB]3min: Early pressure from City after win successive corners. They go short with the second but Bolton are wise to it and manage to prevent a cross coming in.[LNB]2min: Quite a few empty seats in the ground, disappointing to see. Good start though with some end-to-end play but no chances as yet.[LNB]Kick-off: Davies and Ivan Klasnic get us underway.[LNB]12.41: Out they come in a sunny afternoon in the West Midlands. Time for some predictions. I'm sitting on the fence, 1-1.[LNB]12.38: Players waiting in the tunnel, fair play to the Bolton fans who have probably been the louder of the two sides before kick-off, they are certainly up for this.[LNB]12.35: Not a packed St Andrews and in truth not a great pitch, hope it doesn't have any negative impact on the contest.[LNB]12.32: And I am aware Bolton reached the Carling Cup final in 2004, but that was at Cardiff and it's been too long since they visited Wembley.[LNB]Not since 1995 in fact, where they lost to Liverpool in the League Cup final, then more joyous times later in the season when they beat Reading in the Division One play-off final. What a game that was by the way.[LNB]12.29: I would be interested to see how interested Birmingham and their fans are in this competition now.[LNB]With the Carling Cup locked away in the trophy cabinet, does the cup fever still exist?[LNB]I hope it does, I know staying in the Premier League is important but the FA Cup should still take massive importance no matter the circumstances.[LNB]12.26: That is no typo by the way, Alex McLeish has only named six subs.[LNB]12.23: Team news:[LNB]Birmingham v BoltonBirmingham: Foster, Parnaby, Davies, Jiranek, Murphy, Larsson, Ferguson, Mutch, Beausejour, Phillips, Jerome. Subs: Doyle, Ridgewell, Gardner, Derbyshire, Redmond, Ozturk.Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, Wheater, Robinson, Elmander, Holden, Muamba, Petrov, Kevin Davies, Klasnic. Subs: Bogdan, Taylor, Mark Davies, Moreno, Blake, Alonso, Lee.Referee: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)[LNB]12.20: It may just be the quarter-finals but Wembley is just one step away for these two sides who would have been un-fancied to reach this stage at the start of the season.[LNB]Birmingham of course have already done the trip down the M6 to London this season but Bolton will know this is their best chance of reaching football HQ since 1995.[LNB]Team news on the way.[LNB] Trotting off to Wembley?
