England hopes over, admits Davies

The Trotters hitman was in Fabio Capello's thoughts last season and had high hopes of landing his first cap. But Davies missed out when there was a rush of striker withdrawals and has yet to get a mention this term. He told the Sunday Express: "England is not something I'm really thinking about. "There was a stage last season where I was in a couple of long squads. In one of the games six or seven strikers were injured and I wasn't used. "For me, if there are that many strikers out, then it's not really going to happen. "It is nice to be in his thoughts but I'm not really thinking about it. For me it's about my performance at Bolton.'"
