Elmander hamstrung by injury blow

The Trotters hitman sustained the latest knock just 29 minutes into a reserves game against Wigan on Monday. Elmander had been looking to improve his sharpness in that game as he has been on the bench for Bolton's previous two Premier League matches. But the forward will now not only miss Saturday's visit to the Reebok Stadium of in-form Spurs, but also more than likely Sweden's World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Albania next week. "It's a hamstring injury which could have been a lot worse - they call it a grade one - and it's expected he will be out for seven to 10 days, that's at best," confirmed Bolton boss Gary Megson. "We'll have to see, but he won't available for our game with Spurs at the weekend, and I don't think he'll be available for Sweden's games either." Elmander missed several games last season, initially with a calf strain sustained on his second outing following his move, and then with a hamstring issue at the start of the year.
