Bolton boss Gary Megson has confirmed Sean Davis may need surgery to cure a knee problem. The midfielder was on the substitutes' bench for Saturday's 1-1 draw against Stoke at the Reebok Stadium. Davis has been struggling with a knee complaint and may now have to go under the surgeon's knife. Megson said: "We have an issue regarding Sean Davis about whether he needs an operation on his knee. "We will speak to the doctors and the physio and decide what is best for Sean." Megson has promised to field a strong squad on Tuesday for Bolton's home tie against West Ham in the Carling Cup. Midfielder Ricardo Gardner and striker Ivan Klasnic are both pushing for places in the starting line-up.
