Davies: Trotters must make runs

Bolton finished 13th under Gary Megson in the 2008/09 campaign, an improvement on their 16th-place finish the season before. Davies believes stringing good results together guarantees success, and he hopes the Trotters can get off to a winning start on Saturday. He told the Bolton News: "I have said all along that the league position is something we have to keep improving on. Last year we should have probably pushed a bit higher and if we'd won a few more games, we'd have been close to the top 10. "Hopefully we can start with a win against Sunderland and get some momentum - the key this year is a bit of consistency really. "We don't want any runs where we lose five, six or seven games and that will see us go a long way this year."
