Davies targeting United scalp

Kevin Davies believes Bolton are more than capable of chalking up their first home win of the campaign against Manchester United this weekend.[LNB] Bolton are seeking their first win in six attempts against the Red Devils, and Davies believes three points this time around would be a perfect way to build on the encouraging start to the Premier League season.[LNB]"It's been a few years since we have got a win against them," Davies told the club's official site. "It would be nice to come away with a big result against them.[LNB]"I could call it a scalp, but I know the manager loves pitting himself against the best and he wants us to be aiming for victories against these kind of clubs. He sees no reason why we can't win if we show our qualities."[LNB]The captain knows what it is like to score against Manchester United. [LNB]He opened the scoring against Sir Alex Ferguson's charges when the two sides met in April 2006, only for Louis Saha and Ruud van Nistelrooy to complete a turnaround at The Reebok.[LNB]And a positive result could well provide a springboard for Wanderers ahead of next month's important clashes against West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Wigan Athletic.[LNB]He added: "There's always a buzz around the training ground in the days leading up to playing Manchester United. The lads have all been on top of their game in training in anticipation for the game.[LNB]"Yes, it's a big game against Manchester United, but at the same time it's just another league fixture and we'll be as prepared as we would for any other match."
