Davies reveals Scotland approach

olton captain Kevin Davies has revealed he was approached last season about the possibility of playing for Scotland.[LNB] Davies, born in Sheffield, is yet to win a senior England cap despite being tipped for a call-up to the national squad throughout his time with Wanderers.[LNB]The 33-year-old striker was contacted towards the end of the 2009-10 campaign about representing Scotland instead, but Davies felt he had to turn the offer down.[LNB]"I spoke to someone about it at the end of last season," Davies told the Bolton News.[LNB]"They wanted to know if I had any Scottish relatives and to be honest, I wasn't too sure at the time, so I didn't take it any further.[LNB]"You'd think with a name like Davies, I'm more likely to have Welsh blood in me.[LNB]"As far as I'm concerned I'm English, so I didn't really take it on."[LNB]
