Davies issues Bolton battle cry

olton skipper Kevin Davies has called on the club's supporters to give them time to turn around their miserable start to the season. [LNB] Trotters supporters booed off their rock-bottom side following Sunday's 5-1 home thrashing by Chelsea.[LNB]And though Davies accepts performances have been under-par, he believes that what appears a more favourable forthcoming run of fixtures will see the club climb up the table.[LNB]He told the Bolton Evening News: "I know the fans are not too happy and rightly so. We've suffered some heavy defeats here and haven't got any points at home, so we need to do more. [LNB]"While we might not be expected to beat the top teams, we need to compete. It's becoming more difficult but the manner of the defeats haven't been good enough.[LNB]"We'll address the issues that need addressing and get on with it. Hopefully, we can be judged on this next set of five or six fixtures where we will have to pick up points.[LNB]"I don't want to hide behind the fixtures but we have been dealt a cruel set. I know how important it is to get off to a good start, like we did last season."
