Davies hails new training methods

Kevin Davies has been impressed with the fresh techniques Bolton's new management team have adopted in training.

Jimmy Phillips and Sammy Lee have taken over first-team duties following the departure of Owen Coyle, immediately identifying areas to improve.

The duo have worked heavily on the players' fitness and skipper Davies believes the changes will ensure the Trotters are fully prepared for the challenge of Bristol City on Saturday.

"This hasn't been a case of them (Phillips and Co) coming in and saying, 'We'll put a few sessions on and keep you fit,"' Davies told The Bolton News.

"It has been everything. It has been bright and bubbly but most of all it has been intense.

"They have been with the club through the good and the bad. They know what works, what doesn't, and they are using that experience to help us get results."
