Davies delight at captaincy

Kevin Davies has admitted he was 'honoured' to lead out Bolton Wanderers against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.[LNB] The burly striker was named the Trotters' new captain following Kevin Nolan's transfer to Newcastle United.[LNB]Davies celebrated the occasion with an excellent brace as the club overcame Spurs 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at The Reebok.[LNB]The 31-year-old said: "I've been asked to step in and I'm really honoured. [LNB]"I'm really proud and I've managed to cap it off with the winning goal so it's been a great day for me and my family.[LNB]"I just kept on at the boys thinking we could get the winner and I managed to squeeze it in from Matt Taylor's corner. [LNB]"Hopefully now we can kick on into the top 10 and not have to look over our shoulders so much."[LNB]
