Davies could miss out

Bolton could be without captain Kevin Davies for the Barclays Premier League trip to Aston Villa. The striker has not trained all week after clashing heads with Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny in last weekend's 4-1 defeat at the Emirates and could join Gary Cahill and Jussi Jaaskelainen on the sidelines. Bolton failed in their appeal to have Cahill's red card against Arsenal overturned so he begins a three-match ban while goalkeeper Jaaskelainen serves the second of a similar suspension for his sending-off against Birmingham. Andy O'Brien and Adam Bogdan will fill those gaps but Sean Davis, Joey O'Brien, Jlloyd Samuel and Ricardo Gardner are all set to miss out through injury while Tamir Cohen is unavailable because of the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
