Coyle: We'll batter someone soon
The 4-0 defeat at Tottenham in the FA Cup on Wednesday means Bolton go into the Premier League encounter with Wolves at the Reebok Stadium having scored just once in their last seven matches in all competitions.[LNB]Given that they are currently 18th in the table, the statistic does not bode well for the relegation battle ahead, but Coyle - a former Bolton striker - has been encouraged by the number of opportunities his team has created and is confident a goal rush is just around the corner.[LNB]Reflecting on the Tottenham match, Coyle said: "Bizarre as it sounds, I think there was a lot to be pleased about.[LNB]"I think we had 17 shots on goal against Tottenham, albeit we have not scored again.[LNB]"We are creating loads of chances and I know that when one of those goes in, we will hit somebody for three or four.[LNB]"It's all about courage and conviction and I said to the players to keep believing in their ability, keep making those chances and they will go in for them. It would be an ideal time to start for tomorrow.[LNB]"It's frustrating, particularly given that I was a striker. But I also know that I had periods like that myself as a player, for various reasons - hit the post, hit the bar, a bit of bad luck.[LNB]"The goalkeeper (Heurelho) Gomes made some fantastic saves, as did (Paul) Robinson (in the previous match against Blackburn), so sometimes you find yourself up against inspiring goalkeepers because of the level we are involved at. But if they keep believing, they will go in."[LNB]With Wolves themselves only two places and one point above Bolton, Saturday's game is one of a series of crucial six-pointers Wanderers face in the weeks to come.[LNB]The defeat to Tottenham will allow Coyle's side to focus on their bid for Premier League survival, but the manager views each of their remaining fixtures as "cup finals" anyway in terms of their significance and is looking for nothing short of victory in every one.[LNB]"We talk about going out of the cup, but we have now got 12 cup finals, there is no doubt about it," Coyle said. "We are all in the same boat, a group of teams including ourselves and our opponents tomorrow Wolves.[LNB]"Really, in every game we will be going out to get the maximum three points, and tomorrow will be no different.[LNB]"It is a massive game for both teams but we are at home, we have been doing terrific at The Reebok, and we have to look to continue that.[LNB]"It will be a tough game but it is one we are looking forward to.
