Coyle impresses Trotters skipper

Coyle was appointed as Bolton boss last week following the departure of Gary Megson and he has been given the task of securing the club's Premier League status.

Bolton face Arsenal twice in three days this week and Davies admits they face a difficult few weeks the way the fixtures have panned out.

However, Davies is confident Coyle is the man to inspire Bolton after being impressed by the Scot.

"We have to be confident about the season ahead. We've got a tough January but I think we'll be OK," Davies told The Sun.

"I had a good chat with Owen about things on Wednesday and I'm quite impressed with him.

"I've been off ill but the lads said training has been really good, energetic and full of enthusiasm."
