Coyle: Funeral role a privilege

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has spoken of his pride at being one of the pallbearers at Nat Lofthouse's funeral.

Coyle, who also played for the club between 1993 and 1995, carried the coffin into Bolton Parish Parish Church on Wednesday, as did captain Kevin Davies.

Coyle said: "With our captain Kevin Davies and myself representing the club we were very privileged and honoured to be asked. It was a very emotional day.

"I felt it was a fitting send-off for not only a terrific footballer but such a wonderful man.

"The turnout was fantastic. He will be sadly missed."
