Celtic set sights on Stoke defender Abdoulaye Faye - THE INSIDER

[LNB]The 21-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 27 appearances this season, handed in a transfer request earlier this month amid strong interest from Burnley with manager Eddie Howe expected to make him his first signing. [LNB]However, Ian Holloway has a belief that Austin could cut it in the Premier League amidst his Blackpool side and has put an offer to Swindon. [LNB]Ambitious Ipswich manager Paul Jewell and Southampton's Nigel Adkins have also joined the chase and could even offer better terms. [LNB]Austin is expected to talk to Blackpool first and could realise a dream to play in the top flight before next week's deadline but may even see his options increase by the end of today.[LNB] Gera's representatives have held talks with Fulham who have expressed a desire to trigger a clause in his contract where he extends his stay at Craven Cottage for another season. [LNB]However, the Hungary international wants to play more and, conscious that manager Mark Hughes is looking to bring in two more attack-minded please before Tuesday believes a move away is in his best interests. [LNB]Sampdoria and Genoa have shown interest and outlined possible £1million offers but neither have come to fruition. [LNB]Wolfsburg are juggling several targets while Blackpool are also mooted to be interested. [LNB]The latter would be difficult to pull off as Blackpool are unlikely to break their wage ceiling of £10,000 a week and at 31, Gera is looking for a better contract rather than one that would see him take a substantial cut.[LNB] KOO JA-CHEOLJeju Utd to BoltonTHE INSIDER says: 2/5[LNB]ABDOULAYE FAYEStoke to CelticTHE INSIDER says: 2/5[LNB] [LNB] [LNB] The 21-year-old South Korean midfielder and his club Jeju United held talks with Blackburn over a proposed trial for Koo earlier this month but due to the bad weather in the North West he was unable to come over to train. [LNB]However, Bolton have been alerted and following the success of Lee Chung Yong at the Reebok and Park Ji Sung at Manchester United, believe the player has potential to make the grade in the top flight. [LNB]He is highly regarded in Asia and has been subject of interest from Stuttgart and Young Boys of Berne. [LNB]He was the K-League's player of the year last season and has been outstanding in the Asia Cup. [LNB]He models himself on Manchester United's Darren Fletcher but has more goals in his locker and has scored six in 15 internationals.[LNB] The 32-year-old Senegalese defender is eager to move on a gain more playing time. [LNB]Manager Tony Pulis sees him as a valuable squad member but is looking to bring in younger players and may sacrifice Faye and Glenn Whelan as he freshens up the side. [LNB]Newcastle and Wolverhampton Wanderers have both expressed an interest in midfielder Whelan, while Celtic have been keen on Faye with talks over Nottingham Forest's Kelvin Wilson dragging on. [LNB]However, the Scottish side were hopeful of a loan and Pulis would like a small fee for the versatile Faye.
