Celta expect Ghilas sale

Spanish second division outfit Celta Vigo still expect Kamel Ghilas to leave the club this summer. The Algerian striker had been expected to complete a move to Blackburn Rovers during the transfer window, but that deal has stalled. The Ewood Park outfit were reported to have had concerns regarding the 25-year-old's medical, and were looking to change the terms of the agreement as a result. Celta, though, insist that was not the case, claiming talks have broken down due to financial differences. "It is not true that there is a physical problem with the player, the issue is down to money," said Celta's general manager Antonio Chaves. "We reached an agreement with Blackburn, and then they wanted to change things at the last minute. "Because of this the operation has broken down." Ghilas could yet be on the move to England, though, as Hull City, Portsmouth and Bolton are rumoured to be interested. Celta still believe an agreement will be reached, with a club statement revealing: "We believe that it will be possible to complete a transfer in the next few days."
