Cahill looks to keep on scoring

Cahill is currently Bolton's joint-top scorer with five goals to his name in 15 matches, and with two in two games this past week.[LNB]After netting in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City on Saturday, Cahill scored Wanderers' crucial third in the 3-1 win over West Ham on Tuesday.[LNB]The four points from the last two matches have elevated Bolton out of the bottom three and offered up hope they can now push on over Christmas and into the new year.[LNB]Cahill, in particular, is relishing his goalscoring antics as he said: "It's something I wanted to improve upon this year, and I'm hungry for goals.[LNB]"When you have scored a few, it breeds confidence. Every time you go up, you think you are going to score.[LNB]"I've five now and we're not into January. Long may that continue."[LNB]Cahill, who celebrates his 24th birthday on Saturday, had scored just seven goals in his previous 134 appearances for Aston Villa, Burnley, Sheffield United and Bolton.[LNB]Explaining his new-found prowess to the Bolton News, he said: "I get through a bit of running, getting up and down.[LNB]"If I get on the end of things, I stick them in the net. The way we play with set pieces, we are quite dangerous.[LNB]"I go up for throw-ins, so I do get a lot of time up there. I tend to linger about.[LNB]"Whether the manager likes it or not, I don't know, but I stay there.[LNB]"I just hope the ball falls to me or I can get in an area where I can get a shot off or get my head on it."[LNB]The important aspect for boss Gary Megson is that his side build on what they have achieved this week, starting with Monday's local derby at Wigan.[LNB]"The players deserve a huge amount of credit for the way they have gone about things," said Megson.[LNB]"But we have to kick on now. We've got to come up with a result where no-one expects us to get one. That's probably Wigan.[LNB]"It might also have been the case against City because I don't think anyone thought we would get anything from the game.[LNB]"But people talked about the West Ham game being a huge one, a must-win game, and it was. We were delighted to come out on top."[LNB][LNB] Wigan Evens, Draw 12/5, Bolton 11/4
