Cahill appeals to Trotters fans

Wanderers have taken just one point from a possible nine at home this season while they have not won on home soil since they battered Middlesbrough 4-1 at the beginning of April. The team were jeered off the pitch once more after they stole a last gasp draw to Stoke at the weekend and Cahill admits the fans attitude is beginning to affect the players. It is perhaps fair to say that the majority of the supporters' frustrations are vented at manager Gary Megson and the fact that some Trotters fans started a slow clap, such was their disenchantment at matters on the pitch in the first-half against the Potters will not have helped the situation. "I blank it out and do the things that have got me where I am now," the defender told the Manchester Evening News. "But sometimes it's hard for certain players when there are things going on off the pitch. "Maybe they are a bit quicker to move the ball on instead of taking an extra touch and trying to beat players. "It affects some lads differently than others but we definitely heard it in this game. We need to get a win here and get this place back to being an intimidating place to play. "I still think it is but we need to do it collectively, the players, the fans and the staff." Megson, however, was more low key and refused to comment on the fans' behaviour instead wishing to focus on the team. "Don't start trying to get me down a path I don't want to go," he stated. "I'd rather concentrate on the players if you don't mind." Birmingham 11/10, Draw 11/5, Bolton 11/4
