Burley steers clear of Old Firm debate

Scotland manager George Burley can understand why Old Firm players would be interested in joining the Premier League.Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has proposed a new two-tier system that would include Rangers and Celtic. And Burley can see why players from both clubs would relish the opportunity to play at the highest level possible and improve as individuals."You want to play at the highest standard possible," he said."Any player wants to do that."However, Burley was reluctant to be drawn into the debate regarding whether an Old Firm move south of the border would be a good idea.He added: "It's up to the clubs, I'll concentrate on the national team."There are plusses and minuses and every team has it's own agenda."Every team has to look after themselves and what is good for one may not be good for another."I'm sure that's something which will be discussed and looked at."Whether the English Premiership are looking for changes is another matter as well."Meanwhile, Burley is awaiting paperwork which will allow him to include a "mystery player" in the Scotland B squad to face Northern Ireland which he named this morning. The new addition would be eligible for selection because of a Scottish grandparent."We are just waiting for documentation from the lad down south," he said."I've spoken to the club and the player involved but we can't announce his name until it is 100% sure that he qualifies for Scotland."I've been aware of the player for the last few months, we've had him watched and we are just waiting for the documentation."[LNB]
